CWE-89Published: November 2, 2023· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
Online Examination System v1.0 is vulnerable to multiple Unauthenticated SQL Injection vulnerabilities. The 'email' parameter of the feed.php resource does not validate the characters received and they are sent unfiltered to the database.
Risk Analysis
This is an unauthenticated SQL injection vulnerability within the Online Examination System's feed.php resource. By injecting malicious input into the email parameter, an attacker can gain unauthorized control over the database. The 9.8 CVSS score highlights the critical nature of this remotely exploitable flaw.
There is no evidence of public exploitation or inclusion in the CISA KEV list for this vulnerability.
Implement strict input validation on the email parameter and upgrade the Online Examination System to a version that addresses this flaw.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2023-45111 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-89): SQL injection vulnerabilities allow attackers to manipulate database queries, potentially exposing or modifying sensitive data.
