NVD Source

Risk Analysis

This critical vulnerability in Gitea allows an attacker to manipulate file paths during template repository generation. This could lead to unauthorized reading or writing of files outside of their intended locations. The CVSS score of 9.1 indicates a high severity and potential for significant impact.

No public exploit is currently known for this vulnerability. Given the CVSS vector, this flaw is remotely exploitable.

Recommended Action

Upgrade Gitea to version 1.25.5 or later to address the path resolution issue. Regularly review and restrict permissions for template repository generation.
