Official Description

Insecure deserialization in the job results processing component in Amazon Braket SDK before 1.117.0 might allow a remote authenticated user with S3 write access to the job output bucket to achieve arbitrary code execution on any machine that processes job results.

We recommend you upgrade to amazon-braket-sdk version 1.117.0 or later.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-9291 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.

Exploitation requires low privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.

A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 7.1.

From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-502): Insecure deserialization vulnerabilities allow attackers to inject malicious objects during deserialization, potentially enabling remote code execution.
