Risk Analysis

This critical vulnerability in ColdFusion allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code due to improper input validation. With a perfect CVSS score of 10.0, this flaw is extremely severe and does not require user interaction for exploitation. The lack of an EPSS score means the exploitation likelihood is currently unknown, but the perfect CVSS score demands immediate attention.

No public exploit is currently known for this vulnerability. However, its network-exploitable nature and low attack complexity make it an extremely significant remote threat.

Recommended Action

Administrators should apply updates to ColdFusion versions 2023 and 2025 to address this improper input validation vulnerability. Ensure all inputs are properly validated to prevent arbitrary code execution.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-47928 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.

The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.

A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 10.0.

The vulnerability has a "Changed" scope, meaning successful exploitation can impact components beyond the vulnerable component itself — such as the host operating system or adjacent services.
