Official Description
Livestatus injection in the notification test mode in Checkmk <2.5.0b4 and <2.4.0p26 allows an authenticated user with access to the notification test page to inject arbitrary Livestatus commands via a crafted service description.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-33456 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires high privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit exists for CVE-2026-33456. While not yet confirmed in active campaigns, the availability of PoC code increases exploitation risk substantially.
