Official Description
Improperly Controlled Modification of Dynamically-Determined Object Attributes vulnerability in Drupal Formatter Field allows Object Injection. This issue affects Formatter Field versions: from 0.0.0 to 2.0.0.
Risk Analysis
This critical vulnerability in Drupal Formatter Field allows for Object Injection due to improperly controlled modification of dynamically-determined object attributes. An attacker can exploit this to execute arbitrary code or manipulate application objects, leading to full system compromise. The CVSS score of 9.8 signifies an extremely high risk.
No public exploit is currently known for this vulnerability. Its remote and unauthenticated nature (AV:N/PR:N) makes it highly susceptible to exploitation if a working exploit were to be developed.
Update the Drupal Formatter Field module to a version greater than 2.0.0. Implement strict input validation and serialization filtering to prevent object injection attacks.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-12535 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
