CVE-2025-59470
CWE-77Published: January 8, 2026· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
This vulnerability allows a Backup Operator to perform remote code execution (RCE) as the postgres user by sending a malicious interval or order parameter.
Risk Analysis
This critical vulnerability in Veeam Backup & Replication allows a Backup Operator to achieve remote code execution as the postgres user. The CVSS score of 9.0 highlights a severe risk to confidentiality and integrity, making this an urgent issue.
No public exploit is currently known for this vulnerability. Its remote exploitability (AV:N) and low attack complexity (AC:L) mean it could be easily exploited by an authenticated attacker.
Apply the latest security patches for Veeam Backup & Replication. Restrict Backup Operator privileges to the minimum necessary and monitor for unusual activity by these accounts.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2025-59470 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires high privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), with a CVSS base score of 9.0.
The vulnerability has a "Changed" scope, meaning successful exploitation can impact components beyond the vulnerable component itself — such as the host operating system or adjacent services.
