Official Description
In Ascertia SigningHub through 8.6.8, there is a lack of rate limiting on the reset password function, leading to an email bombing vulnerability. An authenticated attacker can exploit this by automating reset password requests.
Risk Analysis
This critical vulnerability in Ascertia SigningHub allows an authenticated attacker to trigger an email bombing attack due to a lack of rate limiting on the reset password function. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this flaw can lead to denial of service through email flooding. The lack of an EPSS score means its exploitation likelihood is unknown, but the high CVSS score indicates urgency.
No public exploit is currently known for this vulnerability. It is remotely exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, but requires prior authentication.
Implement rate limiting on the reset password function in Ascertia SigningHub. Monitor for unusual activity related to password reset requests.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2025-54321 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
