CISA KEV Advisory
CWP Control Web Panel OS Command Injection Vulnerability
CWP Control Web Panel (formerly CentOS Web Panel) contains an OS command Injection vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote code execution via shell metacharacters in the t_total parameter in a filemanager changePerm request. A valid non-root username must be known.
Apply mitigations per vendor instructions, follow applicable BOD 22-01 guidance for cloud services, or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable.
Risk Analysis
This high-severity vulnerability in CWP Control Web Panel allows unauthenticated remote code execution. Attackers can inject OS commands using shell metacharacters, provided they know a valid non-root username. The high EPSS score and inclusion in CISA's KEV indicate a significant likelihood of exploitation and confirmed real-world impact.
Active exploitation of this vulnerability has been observed in the wild. The flaw is remotely exploitable without authentication, requiring only knowledge of a valid non-root username.
Administrators should apply available patches or upgrades for CWP Control Web Panel immediately. Reviewing and hardening user authentication practices may also reduce risk.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2025-48703 requires local access, meaning attackers must already have a foothold on the target system.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
CISA has added CVE-2025-48703 to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog, confirming active exploitation in the wild. U.S. federal agencies are required to patch this within the mandated timeframe, and all organizations should treat remediation as urgent.
