Risk Analysis

This critical vulnerability is a stack-based buffer overflow in Circutor SGE-PLC1000 and SGE-PLC50 devices, specifically within the 'read_packet()' function of the TACACSPLUS implementation. An attacker can remotely exploit this memory corruption to potentially gain control of the device or cause a denial of service. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this flaw presents a critical risk due to its remote exploitability and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

No public exploit is currently known for this vulnerability, and it is not listed in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. This vulnerability is remotely exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no user interaction required.

Recommended Action

Users of Circutor SGE-PLC1000 and SGE-PLC50 firmware version 0.9.2 should apply vendor-supplied patches to address this vulnerability. Until a patch is released, consider restricting network access to devices using the TACACSPLUS implementation and monitor for suspicious activity.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2025-11778 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.

The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.

A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
