Risk Analysis
A critical SQL injection vulnerability exists in SourceCodester Hotel and Lodge Management System 1.0, allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL commands by manipulating the 'ID' argument in '/edit_customer.php'. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this flaw presents a significant risk of data compromise, data integrity issues, and service disruption. The lack of an EPSS score means the probability of exploitation is not yet assessed, but the high CVSS score demands immediate attention.
There is currently no public exploit known for this vulnerability, and it is not included in CISA's KEV. However, the vulnerability is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity, indicating it can be exploited over a network without requiring complex conditions.
To address this vulnerability, users of SourceCodester Hotel and Lodge Management System 1.0 should install any vendor-provided patches or upgrades. In the absence of a patch, implement robust input validation and use parameterized queries to prevent SQL injection.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2025-11471 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
