CVE-2025-0683
Published: April 11, 2026
Official Description
In its default configuration, Contec Health CMS8000 Patient Monitor transmits plain-text
patient data to a hard-coded public IP address when a patient is hooked
up to the monitor. This could lead to a leakage of confidential patient
data to any device with that IP address or an attacker in a
machine-in-the-middle scenario.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2025-0683 requires local access, meaning attackers must already have a foothold on the target system.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
CISA has added CVE-2025-0683 to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog, confirming active exploitation in the wild. U.S. federal agencies are required to patch this within the mandated timeframe, and all organizations should treat remediation as urgent.
