CVE-2024-2054

CWE-502Published: March 21, 2024· Updated: Jun 17, 2026

9.8
CVSS v3.1

Official Description

The Artica-Proxy administrative web application will deserialize arbitrary PHP objects supplied by unauthenticated users and subsequently enable code execution as the "www-data" user.

NVD Source

Risk Analysis

Artica-Proxy is vulnerable to remote code execution due to the insecure deserialization of PHP objects by unauthenticated users. This critical flaw allows attackers to execute code with the privileges of the web server user.

A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit has been published, though it is not in the KEV catalog. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable with low complexity.

Recommended Action

Upgrade Artica-Proxy to the latest secure version. Disable unnecessary administrative features and restrict access to the web management interface.

Generated by the CTIWATCH analysis pipeline from this CVE's metadata (CVSS, EPSS, KEV status, exploit intelligence). Verify against vendor advisories before acting.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2024-2054 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.

The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.

A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.

A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit exists for CVE-2024-2054. While not yet confirmed in active campaigns, the availability of PoC code increases exploitation risk substantially.

From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-502): Insecure deserialization vulnerabilities allow attackers to inject malicious objects during deserialization, potentially enabling remote code execution.
