CWE-78Published: January 3, 2024· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
PaddlePaddle before 2.6.0 has a command injection in convert_shape_compare. This resulted in the ability to execute arbitrary commands on the operating system.
Risk Analysis
PaddlePaddle is vulnerable to command injection within the convert_shape_compare function, allowing for arbitrary command execution on the host operating system. This critical flaw allows attackers to bypass security controls and gain full control over the affected system. The high CVSS score reflects the severe impact of remote code execution.
There is no known public exploit for this issue, and it is not in the CISA KEV. It is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity.
Upgrade to PaddlePaddle version 2.6.0 or later to remediate the command injection vulnerability.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2023-52314 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
