CWE-89Published: November 7, 2023· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
Online Matrimonial Project v1.0 is vulnerable to multiple Unauthenticated SQL Injection vulnerabilities. The 'username' parameter of the auth/auth.php resource does not validate the characters received and they are sent unfiltered to the database.
Risk Analysis
The Online Matrimonial Project is vulnerable to unauthenticated SQL injection during the authentication process. This critical flaw allows remote attackers to bypass security controls.
No public exploit is known, and the vulnerability is not in KEV.
Implement parameterized queries for the authentication process and sanitize all user-supplied input.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2023-46787 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-89): SQL injection vulnerabilities allow attackers to manipulate database queries, potentially exposing or modifying sensitive data.
