CVE-2023-44350
CWE-502Published: November 17, 2023· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
Adobe ColdFusion versions 2023.5 (and earlier) and 2021.11 (and earlier) are affected by an Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability that could result in Arbitrary code execution. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction.
Risk Analysis
Adobe ColdFusion is vulnerable to arbitrary code execution resulting from the deserialization of untrusted data. The lack of required user interaction makes this a critical security risk for all affected deployments.
No public exploit is currently known, and the vulnerability is not in the KEV database. It is remotely exploitable.
Users must update their Adobe ColdFusion installations to versions beyond 2023.5 and 2021.11 to mitigate this risk.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2023-44350 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-502): Insecure deserialization vulnerabilities allow attackers to inject malicious objects during deserialization, potentially enabling remote code execution.
