CWE-502Published: October 5, 2023· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
Presto Changeo testsitecreator up to 1.1.1 was discovered to contain a deserialization vulnerability via the component delete_excluded_folder.php.
Risk Analysis
This vulnerability involves insecure deserialization in the Presto Changeo testsitecreator component. Given its critical CVSS score of 9.8, it poses a severe risk of full system compromise, as it allows for remote code execution without authentication.
There is no known public exploit for this vulnerability, and it is not currently listed in CISA's KEV catalog. It is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity.
Users should update to a version beyond 1.1.1 or remove the affected component if it is not required for operations.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2023-43981 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-502): Insecure deserialization vulnerabilities allow attackers to inject malicious objects during deserialization, potentially enabling remote code execution.
