CVE-2023-40464
CWE-321Published: December 4, 2023· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
6.8
CVSS v3.1
Official Description
Several versions of
ALEOS, including ALEOS 4.16.0, use a hardcoded
SSL certificate and
private key. An attacker with access to these items
could potentially
perform a man in the middle attack between the
ACEManager client
and ACEManager server.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2023-40464 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires low privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), with a CVSS base score of 6.8.
