CWE-78Published: December 20, 2023· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
IBM Informix JDBC Driver 4.10 and 4.50 is susceptible to remote code execution attack via JNDI injection when passing an unchecked argument to a certain API. IBM X-Force ID: 259116.
Risk Analysis
The IBM Informix JDBC Driver is vulnerable to a JNDI injection attack, which can lead to remote code execution. Given the critical CVSS score of 9.8, this flaw poses a severe risk as it allows unauthenticated attackers to gain full control over the system.
There is no known public exploit for this vulnerability, and it is not currently listed in the CISA KEV catalog. It is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity.
Users should upgrade to a patched version of the IBM Informix JDBC Driver. Ensure that input validation is strictly enforced for all API arguments.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2023-35895 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
