CWE-119Published: November 23, 2023· Updated: Jun 17, 2026

9.8
CVSS v3.1

Official Description

A maliciously crafted MODEL, SLDASM, SAT or CATPART file when parsed through Autodesk AutoCAD 2024 and 2023 could cause memory corruption vulnerability. This vulnerability, along with other vulnerabilities, could lead to code execution in the current process.

NVD Source

Risk Analysis

Autodesk AutoCAD is vulnerable to memory corruption when parsing specific file formats, which can lead to arbitrary code execution. The critical 9.8 CVSS score highlights the danger of processing untrusted files.

No public exploit is known, and it is not in the KEV catalog. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable with low complexity.

Recommended Action

Update AutoCAD to the latest version to receive security patches. Avoid opening files from untrusted or unknown sources.

Generated by the CTIWATCH analysis pipeline from this CVE's metadata (CVSS, EPSS, KEV status, exploit intelligence). Verify against vendor advisories before acting.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2023-29076 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.

The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.

A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.

From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-119): Buffer overflow vulnerabilities can lead to arbitrary code execution or denial of service by corrupting adjacent memory.
