CVE-2023-28543

CWE-125Published: September 5, 2023· Updated: Jun 17, 2026

9.8
CVSS v3.1

Official Description

A malformed DLC can trigger Memory Corruption in SNPE library due to out of bounds read, such as by loading an untrusted model (e.g. from a remote source).

NVD Source

Risk Analysis

The Qualcomm SNPE library is vulnerable to memory corruption due to an out-of-bounds read when processing malformed DLC files. An attacker could exploit this by providing an untrusted model file, leading to potential code execution.

No public exploit is known, and it is not in the CISA KEV. It is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity.

Recommended Action

Users should apply the latest firmware updates provided by the device manufacturer for the affected Qualcomm chipsets.

Generated by the CTIWATCH analysis pipeline from this CVE's metadata (CVSS, EPSS, KEV status, exploit intelligence). Verify against vendor advisories before acting.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2023-28543 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.

The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.

A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
