Published: May 18, 2026· Updated: May 19, 2026
Official Description
Incorrect access control in the /uci/get/ endpoint of NOVUS AirGate 4G firmware v1.1.16 allows unauthenticated attackers to obtain administrator credentials via a crafted POST request.
Risk Analysis
This critical vulnerability in NOVUS AirGate 4G firmware allows unauthenticated attackers to obtain administrator credentials due to incorrect access control in the /uci/get/ endpoint. With a CVSS score of 9.1, this flaw poses a significant risk for unauthorized access and potential system compromise. The absence of an EPSS score means the exploitation likelihood is not yet assessed, but the high CVSS score indicates urgency.
No public exploit is currently known for this vulnerability. Given the network attack vector and low attack complexity, this flaw is remotely exploitable without user interaction.
Users should update NOVUS AirGate 4G firmware to a version beyond v1.1.16 to address this incorrect access control vulnerability.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2023-24215 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), with a CVSS base score of 9.1.
