CWE-787Published: February 2, 2023· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
Tenda W20E v15.11.0.6 was discovered to contain multiple stack overflows in the function formSetStaticRoute via the parameters staticRouteNet, staticRouteMask, staticRouteGateway, staticRouteWAN.
Risk Analysis
Tenda W20E v15.11.0.6 is affected by multiple stack overflows in its static route configuration function. These critical flaws could allow a remote attacker to crash the device or execute arbitrary code.
No public exploit is known, and it is not in CISA KEV. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity.
Update the Tenda W20E firmware to a version beyond 15.11.0.6 and restrict access to the configuration interface.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2022-48130 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-787): Out-of-bounds write vulnerabilities can lead to data corruption, crashes, or arbitrary code execution.
