Risk Analysis

Merit LILIN AH55B04 and AH55B08 DVR devices contain hard-coded administrator credentials. This allows any unauthenticated remote attacker to gain full administrative access to the device, leading to potential system manipulation or service disruption. The 9.8 CVSS score reflects the critical nature of this authentication bypass.

There is no known public exploit for this issue, and it is not in the CISA KEV catalog. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable.

Recommended Action

Contact the vendor for firmware updates that remove hard-coded credentials. Restrict network access to the DVR management interface to trusted internal segments only.
