Official Description
Tenda A15 V15.13.07.13 was discovered to contain a stack overflow via the ssid parameter at /goform/WifiBasicSet.
Risk Analysis
A stack overflow in the Tenda A15 firmware can be triggered via the ssid parameter, posing a critical risk to device integrity. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this flaw could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code. There is no current evidence of exploitation in the wild.
No public exploit is known for this vulnerability. The flaw is remotely exploitable due to its network-based vector and low complexity.
Update the Tenda A15 firmware to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2022-47119 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-787): Out-of-bounds write vulnerabilities can lead to data corruption, crashes, or arbitrary code execution.
