CVE-2022-41657

CWE-22Published: October 31, 2022· Updated: Jun 17, 2026

9.8
CVSS v3.1

Official Description

Delta Electronics InfraSuite Device Master Versions 00.00.01a and prior allow attacker provided data already serialized into memory to be used in file operation application programmable interfaces (APIs). This could create arbitrary files, which could be used in API operations and could ultimately result in remote code execution.

Risk Analysis

Delta Electronics InfraSuite Device Master is vulnerable to remote code execution because it allows serialized memory data to be used in file operation APIs. This can lead to the creation of arbitrary files, posing a critical security risk.

No public exploit is known for this vulnerability, and it is not in the CISA KEV. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity.

Recommended Action

Users should update to a version of InfraSuite Device Master that restricts the use of serialized data in file operations.

Generated by the CTIWATCH analysis pipeline from this CVE's metadata (CVSS, EPSS, KEV status, exploit intelligence). Verify against vendor advisories before acting.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2022-41657 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.

The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.

A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
