CWE-798Published: April 26, 2023· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
An issue was discovered in Fighting Cock Information System 1.0, which uses default credentials, but does not force nor prompt the administrators to change the credentials.
Risk Analysis
Fighting Cock Information System fails to enforce or prompt for the change of default administrative credentials. This allows attackers to easily gain unauthorized access to the system. The critical CVSS score reflects the high risk associated with default authentication bypasses.
There is no known public exploit, and the issue is not in the CISA KEV catalog. It is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity.
Immediately change all default credentials to strong, unique passwords. Implement a policy that forces password changes upon initial login.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2022-39989 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
