CVE-2022-39322

CWE-285Published: October 25, 2022· Updated: Jun 17, 2026

9.8
CVSS v3.1

Official Description

@keystone-6/core is a core package for Keystone 6, a content management system for Node.js. Starting with version 2.2.0 and prior to version 2.3.1, users who expected their `multiselect` fields to use the field-level access control - if configured - are vulnerable to their field-level access control not being used. List-level access control is not affected. Field-level access control for fields other than `multiselect` are not affected. Version 2.3.1 contains a fix for this issue. As a workaround, stop using the `multiselect` field.

Risk Analysis

Keystone 6 versions 2.2.0 through 2.3.0 fail to apply field-level access control to 'multiselect' fields. This could result in unauthorized data access, warranting a critical severity rating.

No public exploit is known, and it is not in the KEV catalog. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable.

Recommended Action

Upgrade to Keystone 6 version 2.3.1 or stop using the 'multiselect' field as a workaround.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2022-39322 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.

The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.

A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
