CVE-2022-35526
Published: April 11, 2026
Official Description
WAVLINK WN572HP3, WN533A8, WN530H4, WN535G3, WN531P3 login.cgi has no filtering on parameter key, which leads to command injection in page /login.shtml.
Risk Analysis
Several WAVLINK router models are vulnerable to command injection through the login.cgi page due to a lack of input filtering on the 'key' parameter. This allows an attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the device. The confirmed exploitation in the wild makes this a critical issue.
This vulnerability is actively exploited in the wild and can be triggered remotely. An attacker can achieve command injection by manipulating the 'key' parameter in the /login.shtml page.
Update the firmware of WAVLINK WN572HP3, WN533A8, WN530H4, and WN535G3, WN531P3 devices to a patched version. Until an update is available, restrict network access to these devices from untrusted sources.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2022-35526 requires local access, meaning attackers must already have a foothold on the target system.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
CISA has added CVE-2022-35526 to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog, confirming active exploitation in the wild. U.S. federal agencies are required to patch this within the mandated timeframe, and all organizations should treat remediation as urgent.
