CWE-78Published: September 28, 2022· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
In Carlo Gavazzi UWP3.0 in multiple versions and CPY Car Park Server in Version 2.8.3 a remote, unauthenticated attacker could utilize an improper input validation on an API-submitted parameter to execute arbitrary OS commands.
Risk Analysis
Carlo Gavazzi UWP3.0 and CPY Car Park Server suffer from improper input validation in an API parameter, enabling remote command execution. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to run arbitrary OS commands on the device.
No public exploit is known, and it is not in the CISA KEV. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity.
Update the device firmware to a version that includes proper input sanitization for API parameters.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2022-28811 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
