CVE-2022-1386
Published: April 11, 2026
Official Description
The Fusion Builder WordPress plugin before 3.6.2, used in the Avada theme, does not validate a parameter in its forms which could be used to initiate arbitrary HTTP requests. The data returned is then reflected back in the application's response. This could be used to interact with hosts on the server's local network bypassing firewalls and access control measures.
Risk Analysis
The Fusion Builder WordPress plugin, used in the Avada theme, is vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) due to improper parameter validation. This allows attackers to initiate arbitrary HTTP requests from the server, potentially bypassing firewalls and accessing internal networks. Its inclusion in CISA's KEV catalog and active exploitation make this a severe and urgent threat.
This vulnerability is actively exploited in the wild and is listed in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, indicating a high risk of internal network access.
Upgrade the Fusion Builder WordPress plugin to version 3.6.2 or newer to mitigate the Server-Side Request Forgery vulnerability.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2022-1386 requires local access, meaning attackers must already have a foothold on the target system.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
CISA has added CVE-2022-1386 to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog, confirming active exploitation in the wild. U.S. federal agencies are required to patch this within the mandated timeframe, and all organizations should treat remediation as urgent.
