CWE-20Published: April 22, 2022· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
6.7
CVSS v3.1
Official Description
A potential vulnerability in the SMI callback function used in the SMBIOS event log driver in some Lenovo Desktop, ThinkStation, and ThinkEdge models may allow an attacker with local access and elevated privileges to execute arbitrary code.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2021-4211 requires local access, meaning attackers must already have a foothold on the target system.
Exploitation requires high privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 6.7.
