Official Description
When OTRS uses multiple backends for user authentication (with LDAP), agents are able to login even if the account is set to invalid. This issue affects OTRS; 8.0.9 and prior versions.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2020-1778 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires low privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
