CVE-2020-15568
Published: April 11, 2026
Official Description
TerraMaster TOS before 4.1.29 has Invalid Parameter Checking that leads to code injection as root. This is a dynamic class method invocation vulnerability in include/exportUser.php, in which an attacker can trigger a call to the exec method with (for example) OS commands in the opt parameter.
Risk Analysis
TerraMaster TOS versions before 4.1.29 are vulnerable to a code injection flaw due to improper parameter checking. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary commands as root, posing a severe risk to system integrity.
This vulnerability is actively exploited in the wild and is listed in CISA's KEV catalog. The ability to achieve root-level code execution without authentication makes this a highly critical and remotely exploitable threat.
Upgrade TerraMaster TOS to version 4.1.29 or later immediately. Implement network segmentation to limit exposure of management interfaces.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2020-15568 requires local access, meaning attackers must already have a foothold on the target system.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
CISA has added CVE-2020-15568 to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog, confirming active exploitation in the wild. U.S. federal agencies are required to patch this within the mandated timeframe, and all organizations should treat remediation as urgent.
