Risk Analysis

This critical server-side template injection vulnerability in PDF Signer 3.0 allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code. By injecting PHP commands through the CSRF-TOKEN cookie parameter, an attacker can execute system commands and retrieve sensitive information from the server. The CVSS score of 9.8 indicates a severe and easily exploitable flaw.

No public exploit is currently known for this vulnerability. The flaw is remotely exploitable (AV:N) and has low attack complexity, making it a significant threat even without a published exploit.

Recommended Action

Administrators should update PDF Signer to a patched version that properly sanitizes input in the CSRF-TOKEN cookie. Implement robust web application firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block template injection attempts.

Generated by the CTIWATCH analysis pipeline from this CVE's metadata (CVSS, EPSS, KEV status, exploit intelligence). Verify against vendor advisories before acting.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2019-25729 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.

The vulnerability requires no privileges and no user interaction, making it a prime target for automated exploitation campaigns and worm-like propagation.

A successful exploit results in complete confidentiality breach (data exposure), full integrity compromise (data manipulation), availability disruption (denial of service), with a CVSS base score of 9.8.
