CWE-287Published: November 4, 2014· Updated: Jun 17, 2026
Official Description
CA Cloud Service Management (CSM) before Summer 2014 does not properly verify authentication tokens from an Identity Provider, which allows user-assisted remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions via unspecified vectors.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2014-8472 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-287): Authentication bypass vulnerabilities allow attackers to access protected resources without valid credentials.
