CWE-200Published: August 20, 2013· Updated: Jun 16, 2026
2.1
CVSS v3.1
Official Description
Puppet Enterprise before 3.0.1 uses HTTP responses that contain sensitive information without the "no-cache" setting, which might allow local users to obtain sensitive information such as (1) host name, (2) MAC address, and (3) SSH keys via the web browser cache.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2013-4959 requires local access, meaning attackers must already have a foothold on the target system.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-200): Information exposure vulnerabilities leak sensitive data to unauthorized actors.
