Official Description
The AXIS Media Control (AMC) ActiveX control (AxisMediaControlEmb.dll) 6.2.10.11 for AXIS network cameras allows remote attackers to create or overwrite arbitrary files via a file path to the (1) StartRecord, (2) SaveCurrentImage, or (3) StartRecordMedia methods.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2013-3543 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit exists for CVE-2013-3543. While not yet confirmed in active campaigns, the availability of PoC code increases exploitation risk substantially.
