Official Description
The Traffic Grapher Server for NetMechanica NetDecision before 4.6.1 allows remote attackers to obtain the source code of NtDecision script files with a .nd extension via an invalid version number in an HTTP request, as demonstrated using default.nd. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2012-1466 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit exists for CVE-2012-1466. While not yet confirmed in active campaigns, the availability of PoC code increases exploitation risk substantially.
