Official Description
Multiple integer overflows in the ParseKnownType function in RealNetworks RealPlayer 11.0 through 11.1 and RealPlayer SP 1.0 through 1.1.4 on Windows allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted (1) HX_FLV_META_AMF_TYPE_MIXEDARRAY or (2) HX_FLV_META_AMF_TYPE_ARRAY data in an FLV file.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2010-3000 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit exists for CVE-2010-3000. While not yet confirmed in active campaigns, the availability of PoC code increases exploitation risk substantially.
