Official Description
Directory traversal vulnerability in aria2 before 1.9.3 allows remote attackers to create arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences in the name attribute of a file element in a metalink file.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2010-1512 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
