Official Description
PHP before 5.2.12 does not properly handle session data, which has unspecified impact and attack vectors related to (1) interrupt corruption of the SESSION superglobal array and (2) the session.save_path directive.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2009-4143 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
