Official Description
Textpattern (aka Txp CMS) 4.0.5 does not ask for the old password during a password reset, which makes it easier for remote attackers to change a password after hijacking a session.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2008-5670 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
