Official Description
The OCSP functionality in stunnel before 4.24 does not properly search certificate revocation lists (CRL), which allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions by using revoked certificates.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2008-2420 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
