Official Description
Integer signedness error in Safari on Apple iPhone before 2.0 and iPod touch before 2.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via vectors involving JavaScript array indices that trigger an out-of-bounds access, a different vulnerability than CVE-2008-2307.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2008-2303 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit exists for CVE-2008-2303. While not yet confirmed in active campaigns, the availability of PoC code increases exploitation risk substantially.
