Official Description
Incomplete blacklist vulnerability in IISWebAgentIF.dll in the WebID RSA Authentication Agent 5.3, and possibly earlier, allows remote attackers to conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via the postdata parameter, due to an incomplete fix for CVE-2005-1118.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2008-1470 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit exists for CVE-2008-1470. While not yet confirmed in active campaigns, the availability of PoC code increases exploitation risk substantially.
From a weakness classification perspective (CWE-79): Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities allow attackers to inject malicious scripts into web pages viewed by other users.
