Official Description
Buffer overflow in igcore15d.dll 15.1.2.0 and 15.2.0.0 for AccuSoft ImageGear, as used in Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo 11.20 and possibly other products, allows user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted .CLP file. NOTE: some details were obtained from third party sources.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2007-2209 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit exists for CVE-2007-2209. While not yet confirmed in active campaigns, the availability of PoC code increases exploitation risk substantially.
