4.6
CVSS v3.1
Official Description
H-Sphere Winbox 2.4.2 and 2.4.3 RC1 stores sensitive information such as username and password in plaintext in world-readable log files, which allows local users to gain privileges.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2005-1606 requires local access, meaning attackers must already have a foothold on the target system.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit exists for CVE-2005-1606. While not yet confirmed in active campaigns, the availability of PoC code increases exploitation risk substantially.
