Official Description
exif.c in PHP before 4.3.11 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption and crash) via an EXIF header with a large IFD nesting level, which causes significant stack recursion.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2005-1043 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
