Official Description
Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in search.php in Phorum, possibly 5.0.7 beta and earlier, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary HTML or web script via the subject parameter.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2004-2242 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
